This simple concrete temple in a village near the Indian city of Pune is topped with a pyramidal roof and incorporates a channel that allows ceremonial holy water to flow out into its lush surroundings. Designed by locally based Karan Darda Architects, the temple is located within an orchard of chikoo trees in a traditional farming region

New renders have been released of Henning Larsen’s “luxurious hideaway in the Georgian mountains” after construction started on the 25000m², 135 room hotel earlier this year. The new Agobili Hotel is located at the Abastumani spa resort in Georgia, which itself has been a health retreat for both the Tsar family and general public alike. The new building hopes “to create a story about the magnificent place it inhabits.”

Escolano + Steegmann creates apartment that recalls rooftops of Barcelona

Bold geometric shapes and terracotta tiles are used to reference the city rooftops in Escolano + Steegmann’s renovation of an apartment in Barcelona. Called Casa Conxita, the 84-square-metre apartment has a linear, east-west layout that looks out onto the street at one end and into a courtyard at the other. During the process of reconstruction and extension of the residential building Mýtna 25, originally built as three storeyed object with unused attic space, it’s volume was heightened by additional three floors, including the attic.  Two upper storeys are supressed from the Mýtna street in order to create a terrace space. Despite of the plane of the facade from the street maintain it’s previous, unchanged shape from the pedestrian point of the view.
